Content Policy Overview

Skydeca maintains a professional, open platform that respects free expression while ensuring a safe environment for all users. We intervene only where required by law or to prevent direct harm.

This policy works in conjunction with our Terms of Service. Violations may result in content removal, account suspension, or permanent termination.

Free Expression: Offensive speech, controversial opinions, political commentary, and challenging viewpoints are generally protected. We distinguish between objectionable ideas and conduct threatening safety.

Content Rating Standards

Skydeca uses a content rating system across 5 categories: Language, Sexuality, Violence, Substances, and Intensity. Each category is rated from 0 (None) to 3 (Moderate).

What This Allows

Thoughtful, mature content with purpose
Frank discussions on challenging topics
Prestige content that shows restraint in at least one area
Educational content on sensitive topics
All ideas, opinions, and debate—no matter how controversial

What This Excludes

Content that's Moderate (3) in every category
Shock content designed for spectacle, not substance
Relentlessly dark content with no restraint
Content rated Strong (4) in any category

The Philosophy

We welcome challenging ideas and mature discussions. Our limits filter spectacle, not substance. Content that's thoughtful can be frank; content that's gratuitous in every dimension cannot. Most quality content passes easily—the rule simply asks: "Is there at least one area where this content shows restraint?"

Prohibited Content

The following types of content are strictly prohibited:

Adult & Explicit Material

Pornographic or sexually explicit content
Content depicting or sexualizing minors in any context
Non-consensual intimate imagery

Illegal Activity

Content facilitating or promoting illegal activities
Pirated or copyright-infringing material
Instructions for creating weapons, drugs, or explosives

Violence & Harm

Graphic violence, gore, or disturbing imagery
Content promoting self-harm or suicide
Animal cruelty or abuse
Content glorifying acts of terrorism

Threats & Fraud

Credible threats against specific individuals or groups
Doxxing (publishing private personal information)
Scams, phishing, or fraudulent schemes
Impersonation of individuals or organizations

Ethical Guidelines

While not strictly prohibited, we strongly encourage users to follow these guidelines:

Copyright & Intellectual Property

Only upload content you own or have explicit permission to use
Respect fair use for educational and commentary purposes
Properly attribute sources and give credit to creators
Do not strip watermarks or attribution from third-party content

Privacy & Consent

Obtain consent from individuals prominently featured in your content
Do not share private information without explicit permission
Exercise special care with content involving minors
Respect the privacy expectations of recorded individuals

Content Accuracy

Clearly distinguish fact from opinion
Correct factual errors promptly when identified
Disclose conflicts of interest or sponsorships
Do not intentionally spread known misinformation

AI & Synthetic Media

Clearly label AI-generated content (synthetic voices, AI avatars)
Platform-provided AI tools (transcription) do not require disclosure
Deepfakes impersonating real people without consent are prohibited
Be transparent about the use of AI in content creation

Protected Expression

We welcome diverse viewpoints and robust debate. The following types of content are protected even if some users find them objectionable:

Political commentary, criticism, and advocacy
Religious and philosophical discourse
Satire, parody, and provocative artistic expression
Discussions of historical events, including sensitive topics

Scientific inquiry, academic research, and debate
News reporting and investigative journalism
Personal opinions and cultural commentary
Educational content about controversial subjects

Enforcement

We take a graduated approach to enforcement, considering the severity and context of violations:

Human Review

All content reports are reviewed by humans, not algorithms alone. We aim to respond within 48-72 hours. Context matters—we consider educational value, artistic merit, newsworthiness, and intent before taking action.

Appeals

If you believe we made an error, you may appeal within 14 days. Email appeals@skydeca.com with your account email, a description of the content or action, your explanation, and any supporting context. Appeals are reviewed by a different team member and we respond within 10 business days.
